Building and Roofing Science Seminar – Parsippany, NJ

November 7, 2018  |  8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Earn 5 AIA HSW CEU and 5 CEH RCI credits and spend the day with industry experts talking about crucial topics like roofing membranes and systems, optimizing R‑value, and building energy efficiency. If you are interested in TPO performance and the debate between air barriers and vapor retarders, then this day is for you. In addition to hearing from the industry experts, you will also attend a tour of the GAF R&D Department. Get insight from the scientists who are leading in the roofing industry.

Topics include:

  • TPO Membrane Performance: Understand the history of TPO membranes and general performance including how to specify and what to look for in today’s membranes.
  • Roof Membranes Pros and Cons: Discussion will include the challenges surrounding single-ply, asphalt, and hybrid system usage from a building science perspective.
  • Air Barriers vs. Vapor Retarders: Learn the goals of including these materials into the building envelope and roof system including installation tips and code requirements.
  • Building Energy Efficiency and Roof Design: Distinguish between different construction details with respect to balancing cost and resiliency/service life.
  • Value Engineering: Understand how value engineering could affect the performance of low-slope roof systems

*All fields are required.
